Principal's Update 5/2/2022
Posted 5/2/22

Hello, Panthers!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Hard to believe that we are nearing the end of the year.  Please be aware of the following announcements—there are a lot of important things happening.

  • SHOUT OUT!  A shout out is needed for El Roble Choir, Panther Chorus!  At the Forum Music Festival, Panther Chorus was rated the gold prize and is ranked in the top 10% of Intermediate/Jr. High School choirs in the country!!  Great job, Panthers!

  • SHOUT OUT!  Another shout out for the ER Color Guard competed in the WGASC Championships at UC Irvine. They were awarded the 2nd place silver medal in their group!! A huge shout out to Coach Caitlin and the guard for their hard work this winter guard season. They received a score of 67.138 at Championships (4th out of 13 teams in the Junior High AAA Division). They showed tremendous growth in a few short months after starting the season with a score of 50.650 in February. Their hard work clearly paid off! A great testament to Coach Caitlin for working with the new guard who had never participated in color guard before. Congratulations ER Color Guard to an amazing and successful season!!!  IMPORTANT:  If you want to be a part of this amazing team, TRYOUTS are coming up!  Please see the link, as clinics are happening the week of May 16, and tryouts are happening the week of May 23!!!

  • STATE TESTING BEGINS:  State testing is here!  Students, this is a chance to show what you have learned throughout the school year.  During this time, we ask that students:

    • Bring a charged iPad everyday to school.  If students have wired headphones that fit into the school iPad, they can bring those if they choose.

    • Eat a breakfast at home or grab a breakfast at school (available to everyone free of charge).

    • Get a good night's rest. Families, be aware that the schedule will change for students during this time.  Please see this link for the State Testing Bell Schedule.

  • 8th Grade Party:  Traditionally, El Roble has held an 8th grade party at the end of the year for our students, to celebrate their transition to high school.  Our PFA really needs your help to make this happen.  The following image below is being sent to students.  Even if you are not in PFA, we really need your help to put on a good event for out 8th graders.  We need donations and people to volunteer their time to make this happen.  Please contact our PFA president Shannon Mauga.  Her email is at:

  • CEF SLICE OF SUMMER: Please sign up for SLICE of SUMMER, sponsored by the Claremont Educational Foundation!  SLICE is now registering.  Please see the flier at this link so you can see what is being offered this summer!  It is an exciting way to stay involved this summer!

  • TEACHER APPRECIATION:  This week, we are celebrating our Teacher/Staff Appreciation!  If you have a moment, send a note to your student’s teacher, and let them know how you appreciate them!  We have the greatest staff at El Roble Intermediate!
